Ramon C. “Ray” Medellin, Jr., 90 passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Harrisburg Hospital.
Born on February 7, 1929 in Middletown, PA. He was the son of the late Ramon C. Medellin, Sr. and the late Mary Medellin.
Ray was a graduate of Lower Paxton High School and he served his country in the US Army. He was retired from the Harrisburg Steel Mill. Among his greatest joys were his love of family and watching his grandchildren grow. He was an avid sports fan, passionate about Penn State football and Joe Paterno. In high school, they called him “Frankie” because of his beautiful singing voice.
Mr. Medellin is survived by a son, Richard R. Medellin; 2 daughters, Lori (John) Bruno and Ramona (Mike) Applegarth; grandchildren, Shaleena and Tony Medellin, Natalie and Nina Bruno and Christopher and Matthew Seip; 1 great granddaughter, Avery Bruno; a brother, Ramiro Medellin; sisters, Olivia Medellin, Alicia Stahl, Rita Magruder and Mary Linda Medellin and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Paul Medellin, George Medellin and Felipe Medellin.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, Inc., 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the conveniences of the family.
