Helen M. (Mader) Boynton, 89, of Lower Paxton Twp., died Monday, February 18, 2013, at her residence.
Born May 26, 1923 in Penbrook, PA, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Elsie (Hoerner) Mader.
She attended Crosspoint Church and was a former member of Manada Hill United Methodist Church.
Helen formerly worked for AMP, Inc.; volunteered for 26 years in the gift shop at Hershey Medical Center; member of the Shellsville V.F.W. Ladies Auxillary; member of Autumn Leaves Senior Center; Member of Lower Paxton Alumni Association; and member of the One Room Schoolhouse Association.
Her husband, Edward A. Boynton, preceded her in death in 1981.
Surviving are her son, Scott A. Boynton of W. Hanover Twp.; 2 daughters, Kathleen B. Mengel (and husband, Ken) of Harrisburg and Genevieve B. Painter (and husband, James) of Dillsburg; a brother, Leonard Mader of Harrisburg; a sister, Eleanor Judy of Bowie, MD; and 5 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Haines; a brother, Benjamin Mader; and 2 sisters, Charlotte Hostetter and Ruth Messinger.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February, 23, 2013 at Crosspoint Church, 430 Colonial Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17109. The Rev. Jennifer Williams will be officiating.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cross Point Church or to the American Cancer Society, 2 Lemoyne Dr., Suite 101, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
