WILLIAM J. DECKER, Sr.
William James Decker, Sr., 88, of New Cumberland, formerly of Rutherford Heights, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Fox Subacute.
Born October 12, 1923 in Huntingdon, he was a son of John S. and Myrtle P. (Hoffman) Decker.
Mr. Decker retired from United H20 and enjoyed gardening. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. Catherine LaBoure Church.
Surviving is a son, William J. Decker, Jr. of Marysville; two daughters, Linda A. Decker of New Cumberland and Kathleen M. Haas and husband, George, of Lewisberry; and two grandsons, Christopher Haas of Camp Hill and Jon-Erik Haas of Lewisberry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carmella Marie Russo, on February 28, 2010; and three brothers, Harry, Paul and Clarence Decker.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Catherine LaBoure Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg, with Father Joseph R. Howard as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
