Troy Angel Smith, 19, of Harrisburg, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Hershey Medical Center.

Born June 15, 1992 in Harrisburg, he was a son of Tyrone Keith and Holly Jean (Runkle) Smith.

A graduate of the class of 2011 at John Harris High School, he had future plans for a military career with the Marines.

He enjoyed basketball and loved his dog, Debo.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by five brothers, Tyrone Smith, Jr., his twin, Tre Smith, Tyrell Smith, Tyson Smith and Anthony Ridley; three sisters, Barbara Smith, Takeea Smith, and Tyania Smith; his maternal grandmother, Linda Runkle; his paternal grandmother, Barbara Smith; his adopted grandparents, Barbara and Odell R. Simpson, Sr.; two uncles, Juan Rodriguez and Miguel Rodriguez; two aunts, Jessie Taylor and Marisol Rodriguez; and several other family members.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday at the Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, Inc., 4100 Jonestown Rd., Harrisburg, with Rev. David Simmons officiating.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the hour of services.

The family will accept flowers.

A Fellow Citizen

I do not know your family or your son Troy, but I cannot imagine the loss that you feel right now. No one should ever have to bury their child. I just want you to know that I am praying for you and your family. Please know that strangers all around are praying for you and lifting your family up at this hour. Trust God.

To my Aunt Holly and Uncle Tyrone, I can't not imagine the loss of a child but I can definitely emphasize with the pain of lossing a family member. I wish I was there to help console you two. But I know Jesus, our comforter and healer is there to help console everyone this time of hurt and pain. And I want to let you know that if there is anything I can do please let me know. And I love you Aunt Holly and Uncle Ty very much, if anyone believed in me you two definitely did. And you treated me like I was your own. Thank you and I will always continue to keep you in my prayers no matter how far I am from you. Love Troy always!!!
