RUDOLPH P. MAHEK
Rudolph Paul "Pete" Mahek, 89, of Lemoyne, died Friday, November 12, 2010 at his residence.
Born September 19, 1921 in Harrisburg, he was a son of Vendal and Mary (Smudich) Mahek.
Mr. Mahek retired from American Can Company after 37 years of service.
A WWII U.S. Army veteran, he served under General Patton during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of American Legion Post 1001.
He was an avid golfer and a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Doris A. Mahek; a daughter, Sharon Mahek-Via of Lemoyne; a grandson, Larry David Via II of Lemoyne; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, Inc., 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, with Father James E. Lease officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Friends will be received Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
