Sara Josephine Jenkins-Johnson, 74, transitioned into eternal life on May 14, 2017 at UPMC Susquehanna Hospital in Williamsport, PA surrounded by her family. Born July 5, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA she was the daughter of the late John Crampton and Geraldine Cales. She was preceded in death by her husband William B. Johnson Sr, son Richard A. Johnson Sr., Grandson DelAnthony R. Williams and brother-in-law Richard Wright.
A graduate of Williamsport Area High School, Sara pursued additional education at Empire Beauty School. She retired as a bus driver for the Harrisburg School District. She was an active member of Shiloh Church of God and Christ, Harrisburg, PA and while visiting her home town, she faithfully attended Bethel AME, Williamsport, PA. Sara was a member of the Edgar A. Stills Bowling League, Williamsport, PA and was also a member of Ephraim Slaughter Legion Post 733, Harrisburg, PA.
Sara is survived by her son, William B. Johnson Jr (Kelly), of Harrisburg, PA; and daughters, Lynne Miler of Williamsport, PA, Lynette Miller (Arnlado), Leslie Miller (Ronald), Jacqueline Miller-Cuff (Vincent), Tammi Johnson (Joseph) and Melanie Johnson, all of Harrisburg, PA, and her 25 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Fredrick Jenkins (Judy) of Montoursville, PA sister Louise Wright and daughter in-law Joanne Johnson, God-Daughter LouChar Robinson all of Williamsport, PA along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends as well as longtime devoted friend John Manigult Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 11am in Shiloh Church of God and Christ, her 5950 Derry St, Harrisburg, PA. The viewing will be from 10 am to 11am. There will be a memorial service May 20, 2017 in the Antioch Baptist Church, 514 High St, Williamsport, PA at 11:30 am. Arrangements are being held by Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, Harrisburg.
